Top 5 List

1. Banteay Chhmar...The remote temple 60km. from Sisophon is a huge temple and a wonderful days excursion from Sisophon. Hire a car and driver there. It's in a beautiful setting with a village nearby. A young policeman guided me around the temple and that made the experience even better. I was the only "western person" there that day.
2.Kampot...Cambodia's Hoi An. A wonderful little riverside town with some great, though charmingly tired buildings. Make sure you go to the river early to see the colorful fishing boats come in and watch the locals buy their fish
3. The National Museum, Phnom Penh...After you have been to Angkor come here to see some of the great sculpture of the Angkor period in a beautiful setting.
4. The double walled corridor at the Terrace of the Leper King... Enter from the left hand side as you look at it. It contains some of the best sculpture at Angkor. I missed it the first 3 visits but now I walk through several times each visit.
5. Angkor Wat from a different angle...walk across the bridge over the moat. Then turn right and walk along the track with the wall on your left and the moat on your right. Walk to the end then turn and keep walking until halfway there is an entrance. go through here and walk along the track to the Angkor Wat. It's a lovely peaceful walk and so different from the normal route that everybody takes.
