All! I'm taking a break from maintaining the site for the moment, as
changed a lot since I started it. I'm now a happy mother of a beautiful
toddler, and I'm not finding much time to update the site. This also
means that I won't be able to respond to emails and questions sent
directly to the website. However,
since this site is designed to accomodate visitor interactions,
please do still post your questions and stories for others to answer
and comment. I, for one, am still excited to see new stories being
shared at the site, even though I cannot comment on every one of them.
Thank you for visiting this site. I hope you'll still find useful
My name is Rahmi and I love traveling.
In fact, I'm obsessed with it. But I think we all have that mysterious urge to travel, whatever the reason.
For me, it all started when I was around 12. At that time, my parents (bless them) took me to other Southeast Asian countries, and I totally loved it! I'm Indonesian by the way.
Unfortunately, back then I was too young to actually appreciate the sights so I can only remember them vaguely.
I do remember that I was utterly fascinated when we looked at the many Buddha statues in Thailand, or when we went to a Hong Kong street market. Everyone and everything at the market was so busy (Yes, everything. Those ducks were busy getting hanged).
I thought, "What an interesting life people lead in this part of the world!"
I have visited a few other
places since then, and I consider myself very fortunate. Through it all, the fascination for travel never left me. In fact, it
only grew and grew.

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime."
So How Did This Website Come About?
This website was inspired by my first visit to Cambodia in early 2008. And from what I gathered and experienced, Cambodia is an AMAZING place. I think everyone should visit.
Despite the amazingness of it all, I noted something 'funny.'
There were numerous visitors in Angkor Wat, but I still saw very little visitors in some of the fantastic places that I visited (and my visit was during the high season!).
How could that be? How was it even possible?
Beng Melea or Kampung Phluk is just as Cambodian as Angkor Wat and just as worth visiting. In fact, for some adventurous people a visit to Beng Melea could be much more memorable than a visit to Angkor Wat.
And thus began a new project . If people are not aware of these great places, then I hope this website will provide more information about these great Cambodian sites.
Although I know we all want some of the magnificent sites to remain hidden from the public view forever (so that we can have them all to ourselves of course!), some sites are just too good to remain 'hidden.'
For those of you who have already visited Beng Melea, can you imagine the possibility of leaving Cambodia without ever seeing it? The thought alone makes you shrink in fear, scream in outrage, and cry out in alarm, right?
I had such an incredible time when I was in Cambodia, and I wish other people would too. There were so many things to do, so many unique sites to see, so many adventures to be had.
So, that is what this site is for. I hope to give you new ideas about your trip and to help you learn a little bit more about Angkor so that you can get the most out of your visit.
I hope you'll enjoy your stay here, and if you have any questions or comments please drop me a line. I would love to hear from you.
Thanks for visiting my site!
